1BR South Melbourne Apartment

I would highly recommend to anyone thinking of booking this place to think again and look for something else. Positive: The location Negative: The key collection ( at a local supermarket) 10 minutes away from the apartment is not safe for late night arrival The apartment was filthy. The windows were very dirty especially on the balcony , the balcony itself had not been cleaned in a long time The bed was as hard as the floor. The cooker hood did not work, the main gas ring did not work and the oven only worked as a grill. There was a leak on a bathroom tap. The bathroom is very tired and the bath did not empty after a shower due to the ‘hair build up’ in the plug hole. One of the many cleanliness issues around paying AUD 140 cleaning fee!There were too many personal items in the flat. The bedding was inadequate. The spare bedding was a very thin eiderdown and smelt very musty. There were clothes/ personal items in the wardrobe. The crockery was very mismatched, mostly chipped and all very old. A severe lack of communication and complete ignorance of the issues I had whilst there.

Positive: Location was perfect. Nice little apartment, with everything you need. Negative: Mattress was a bit firm for us.

Decent enough overall, though I expected more for the price paid. Positive: Close to where we needed to go. Included a car park Easy check in Negative: Bed was really uncomfortable. Wifi didn’t work. No basic food amenities supplied - eg not even any milk supplied in fridge. Pool wasn’t clean Old taps in bathroom

Positive: The property was fully equipped, everything was clean and the location was perfect!

Mostly enjoyable but a few things need to be tweeked in the apartment. Positive: Great location, so close to transport, 3 tram spots from the city. There were lots of restaurants, coffee shops, etc nearby. The apartment was clean and tidy when I booked in, had most of the things I required. Great security in the units. Negative: There was a bit of a drama collecting the key from a nearby IGA, the staff member had no idea what I was asking for until I showed him the email, he was unhelpful. But I did have a better interaction when the key was dropped back to the same store. I was disappointed when I went to use the shower gel provided and the container was basically empty so I had to purchase my own. Similar with the hand soap situation, no cakes of soap provided and a pump dispenser that had enough for only 2 hand washes. If I had known prior to arriving I would have brought these items with me. Also the cold water tap in the bathroom was leaking unless it was turned off so far that I had to use a towel to help me turn the tap (probably just needs the washers replacing). These may seem like minor things but when you are travelling they just cause unnecessary angst.
